Steam Explosion Technology

Gas explosion refers to the use of high temperature and high pressure steam explosion technology, the agricultural and forestry waste, wild plants and other unconventional coarse feed raw materials processed into filamentous, coke flavor, good palatability of mature coarse feed.

The core technical link is the wall-breaking "nitrogen addition" process of roughage, which is mainly used to blast the raw materials through steam, cook the fiber raw materials with high temperature steam under high pressure, and realize the component separation and structural change of the raw materials through the instantaneous pressure relief process. In the process of steam explosion, high-pressure hot steam enters the fiber raw material and penetrates into the internal voids of the fiber. Due to the combined effect of water vapor and heat, the acid-like degradation and thermal degradation of the fiber raw material are produced, and the low molecular material dissolves out, and the degree of polymerization of the fiber decreases. When the high-pressure steam is released, the hot steam molecules that have penetrated into the fiber are instantly released from the relatively closed pores at high speed in the form of air flow. The high-speed and instantaneous flow of hot steam inside and around the fiber causes mechanical fracture to some extent, thus breaking the intertwining of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose in the straw raw material, thus realizing the feed utilization of straw and turning waste into treasure.

The crude fiber in roughage is mainly composed of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin. Among them, cellulose and hemicellulose can be directly used by ruminants such as cattle and sheep into energy substances, lignin can not be used by ruminants. In the physical structure of roughage, cellulose and hemicellulose are wrapped in lignin and cannot be digested and absorbed by ruminants, usually less than 20%. Through the instantaneous pressure release process of steam explosion technology, the dense fiber structure inside the molecule can be broken, the nutrients wrapped in the lignin can be released, and the utilization efficiency of feed nutrients can be improved.

The net milk yield of maize is 1.83 Mcal/kg, while the net milk yield of stover-bush “nitrogenated” feeds produced from maize or rice straw is as high as 1.72 Mcal/kg and 1.78 Mcal/kg, compared to alfalfa's net milk yield of 1.24 Mcal/kg.
